So I recently discovered how to wake in the morning without smelly breath and I thought I would share this easy 123 step with you. I do wear braces so if you have braces in you will definitely benefit from this. No one wants to wake beside their boo with stinky breath so try this method and see if  it works for you. This will also help you to not have bad breath during the day.

 STEP 1

Brush your teeth and your tongue.

STEP 2

Rinse with mouth wash. I like to use 'Colgate Plax Soft Mint Mouthwash' and this one does not burn!

STEP 3

Floss between ALL your teeth.

The end! Wake in the morning with your breath perfectly fresh.

The first picture was when I had chicken pox last year, don't mind me I was being bad and boujie looking like a hot mess and the second picture on the right I took yesterday.

I try to incorporate a face mask into my everyday routine. These masks have helped with my flawed skin as I suffer from dark spots and had chicken pox scars  all over my face in September 2016.  These masks are cheap, homemade and takes five seconds. I will go into detail about each mask and how they benefit my skin. With each mask I use a foundation brush to apply it. The foundation brush is very cheap and can be found almost anywhere that sells makeup and brushes, or you can purchase one online.
15-20 minutes for every mask!

HONEY MASK

Ingredients:
2 tsp honey

If you follow my snapchat (@dominiqueabbi) you will notice that I do this face mask quite often. I do this mask almost everyday, preferable in the mornings to start my day. I wash my face first, then I go right ahead into my mask. The benefits of the honey mask goes as follows:

  1. Moisturises the skin
  2. Lightens scars
  3. Gentle exfoliates
  4. Fights acne and pimple
  5. Adds a natural glow
  6. Brightens Skin Complexion
  7. Prevents Aging
  8. Reduces Wrinkles
  9. Improves Complexion Impurities
  10. Hydrates the skin
  11. Cleanses pores

TURMERIC MASK

Ingredients:
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp  brown sugar
4 tsp lemon/lime juice
1 tsp honey

I do this to exfoliate once a week. After each use, I do notice that my dark scars are lighter than before which I am loving! Also ensure to wash your face after this mask as turmeric stains. The benefits of this mask goes as follows:
Turmeric
  1. Anti-inflammatory(prevents acne)
  2. Antioxidant (includes Vitamin E and B which are great for the skin)
  3. Delays aging
  4. Natural antiseptic
  5. Prevents wrinkles
  6. Treats pigmentation and dark spots/scars
  7. Soothes burns
Lemon/Lime Juice
  1. Treats blackhead and blemishes
  2. Reduces pigmentation, dark circles and dark spots
  3. Removes access oils from skin
  4. Fades freckles
  5. Anti-aging
  6. Brightens skin for a natural glow
Brown Sugar
  1. Moisturises
  2. Generates firmer skin
  3. Gentle exfoliates

ALOE VERA MASK

Ingredients:
Aloe Vera Gel

Back home this is known as "single bible".  I like to use the natural gel from the aloe vera and rub it all over my face/body and go straight to bed any night of the week. I wait until in the morning to wash this off. My face usually feels tight and tingly but it is bearable. I have tried the aloe vera gel in the bottle and it is not as effective as the natural gel itself. The bottled version usually gives me fine bumps so I have refrained from using it. The benefits of the aloe vera gel goes as follows:
  1. Treats acne
  2. Acts as a moisturiser
  3. Anti-aging
  4. Reduces acne
  5. Lighten blemishes

COFFEE MASK

Ingredients:
1 tsp coffee grounds
2 tsp honey

I use this mask once a week to exfoliate or to substitute the turmeric mask that I mentioned earlier. I add honey for no particular reason and the mask can be used without it. I just like to use honey. The benefits of this mask goes as follows:
Coffee
  1. Prevents clogged pores
  2. Brightens skin
  3. Anti-inflammatory(helps to prevent cystic acne)
  4. Minimizes dark cirlces
  5. Antioxidant(includes Vitamin E and B which are great for the skin)

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR AND BAKING SODA MASK

Ingredients:
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp apple cider vinegar
1 tsp honey

I use this mask to exfoliate. I do this once a week. I do tend to rotate the turmeric, coffee and the apple cider vinegar and baking soda mask. After using this mask I do notice that my skin feels very smooth and dry so I do add the honey to moisturise because of the baking soda's drying tendencies. The benefits goes as follows:
Apple Cider Vinegar

  1. Removes dead skin
  2. Fights acne, blemishes and pimples
  3. Fights wrinkles
  4. Removes toxins
  5. balances pH
Baking Soda
  1. Sunburn relief
  2. Removes dry skin
  3. Itchy skin relief
I hope you enjoyed reading this and if you do try any of these masks please let me know because I want to know how these mask worked for you. I hope you do try all of them as they are wonderful and very inexpensive!

There is a coffee machine at home, after making coffee the leftovers are thrown out. I decided to experiment and use them as a scrub. So firstly I collected the leftover coffee grounds and placed them in a jar then placed them in the fridge to prevent molds. When I was ready I crushed up five leftovers in a bowl, jumped in the shower and started exfoliating. I began this procedure by rinsing myself with warm water to open my pores, this way my skin would be ready for exfoliation. After a few seconds, I rubbed the crushed coffee grounds all over myself (face excluded) in circular motions. I played some music to time myself and kept myself busy. After 10 minutes I rinsed and showered like normal.

Like magic! After four minutes I felt my skin feeling softer. When I washed off. My skin felt like I pured honey all over myself. I felt soft and silky and definitely moisturized. When I got out the shower I was SHOOOKED(shocked) because my results were:

  1. My underarms are lighter and smooth
  2. The callus under my feet feels smooth like I just got a pedicure
  3. My skin feels like satin
  4. The keratosis pilaris (chicken skin) on my skin is gone
  5. My back acne is gone
  6. My skin looks radiant
  7. I chafe and my inner thighs are soft
  8. My knees and elbows are smooth
  9. I am a new person
After drying I moisterised with 100% African Shea Butter from the tip of my neck to the soles of my feet.

B E N E F I T S  O F   T H E  C O F F E E  S C R U B

  1. Reduces Inflammation in the skin which will tame acne
  2. Increases Blood Flow
  3. Prevents Cellulite
  4. Minimizes Dark Circles
  5. Antioxidant (protects the skin, Vitamin C and E present)
  6. Reduces Wrinkles and Aging
  7. Brightens Skin
  8. Removes Dead Skin
If you don't have coffee grounds I recommend using a regular coffee mix that you can get at the store. I will also be using this scrub once a week.

Cystic Acne: 8 months ago

My Skin today! Cystic Acne and Chicken Pox Scars

For a couple of months I suffered with cystic acne that left scarring on my face.
A few months after that I was diagnosed with chicken pox that once again left scars on my face and all over my body. It made me so furious that I was suffering from facial scars back to back. However, these series of events forced me into doing some reflecting on how I could take care of my skin. At the beginning of this journey I was very insecure about the dark scars that tainted my skin.  I tried for months to bury it in makeup, which I believe made it worse.

Today I'm focused on rejuvenating my skin and I have a few tips and products that I've been using that are helping me.

Doing a skincare post is very nerve wracking because I don't have clear skin as how I used to. So I am sharing this for anyone struggling with discoloration, acne, dark scars just know a lot of us are going through it and we shouldn't feel ashamed of it.
Also I am aware that a healthy diet aids in bettering my skin. I just haven't started that journey as yet! lol! My excuse is nothing!!

My Tips To Clear Skin:

  • cleanse your face properly:
After a long day of wearing makeup it's best to remove your makeup and cleanse your face.

I use my Loreal Extraordinary Oil or Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water to remove my makeup with a cosmetic cotton pad

I exfoliate after removing my makeup with Mac Volcanic Ash Exfoliator... This leaves my skin so smooth. Sometimes I use this before applying makeup for a clean canvas

  • Drink a lot of water:
Water is the most important tip, because it keeps the skin hydrated, clear and healthy.

  • Moisturize:
It is so important to moisturize and a lot of people don't do this regularly or with the right products. Moisturizing prevents ageing in the skin and it keeps me glowing and young!
This is the BEST thing for my skin! It helps to clear up my dark marks/spots, keeps me glowing and makes my skin very smooth and soft

  • Be Gentle:
I take care of my skin as if I'm a new born baby. I try to be as gentle and organic as I can be!
recently I started using SIMPLE bar soap all over my skin(face included) and my skin feels more hydrated and not dry after showering

This was prescribed to keep my acne in control, HOWEVER I used DERIVA C GEL to get rid of my cystic acne.

I've been using this for a week and my dark scars are clearing away!!! YAY

This is my secret as to why I don't get a pedicure often!!! I use this in the shower almost everyday and then I use my shea butter afterwards and it keeps my feet soft and silky!

I hope these tips helped you!!! Feel free to tell me about any products you've tried or using that's improving your skin!
